Thailand will host the 4th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Youth Science Festival (APYSF) from August 20-26, 2011 in conjunction with the country's national science fair. The APYSF is a science fair organized to promote awareness and interest in science and technology, and learning among participants, through cutting-edge science and technology and cultural activities. The participants are students and young scientists from APEC member economies who are selected through very competitive selection processes in their respective countries.
The main venues of the 4th AYSF will be the various national science institutes located in Pathum Thani province, about 43 kilometres north of Bangkok. Venues include Sirindhorn Science Home in Thailand Science Park, the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), and the National Science Museum.
Youth Science Canada is planning to send two students to the 4th APYSF.
